Picky Eating VS Sensory Play

Tackling Picky Eating with Sensory Play: How Ermias Is Learning to Love Food One Crunch at a Time Hey, friends! Destiny here, coming at you with a little real-life mom magic from my chaotic-but-adorable world. If you’re battling a picky eater like me, you already know the struggle is real . The mealtime negotiations, the turned-up noses, and the please just eat something prayers. But guess what? There’s a gentle, fun way to help our little food explorers get comfortable with new textures and tastes — and it’s called sensory play . What Is Sensory Play—and Why Does It Matter? Sensory play is all about letting kids use their senses—touch, sight, sound, and sometimes even taste—to explore the world around them without pressure or expectation. From Diapers To The Potty: Taking The Next Big Steps!

Tackling the Next Big Milestone: Potty Training!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about toddlerhood, it’s that just when you feel like you’re getting the hang of things—boom!—another challenge pops up. We’ve been making strides in picky eating, but now it’s time to take on the next big adventure: potty training.

Am I Ready for This?

I’ll be honest—this is a little overwhelming. It already feels like there’s so much to juggle, and adding potty training into the mix means one more thing to manage. But at the same time, I know it’s a necessary step, and I want to set Ermias up for success. I’ve been paying attention to his cues, and I think we might be approaching the right time.

No Expectations, Just Progress

I have no grand expectations. Just like with food, I know this will take patience, trial and error, and plenty of grace for both of us. Some days will probably be messy—literally—but that’s part of the process. I’m not aiming for perfection, just progress.

Let’s Do This—Together!

So here we go—one more adventure in toddlerhood. Wish me luck! If you’ve been through this stage before, I’d love to hear what worked (or didn’t work) for you. How did you know when your little one was ready? Any tips to make the process smoother? Let’s navigate this new phase together!
